Custom Service:

The Custom Service gives you flexibility and individuality.

We create a website for you either using one of our templates or to your requirements drawing on all the features used across our range.
Then we will register a domain name of your choice (subject to availability) and arrange professional hosting for your site.
The advantages of this are that you will have a web name reflecting your business name, and your site should be much more search engine friendly. You also have the option of business email accounts linked to your website and domain name.
You may have more than one domain name linked to your website to enhance search-engine exposure. For example, John Smith working in Deal may register "john_smith_driving_school.com" and "deal_driving_school.com".
When your website is "live", we maintain and update the website for you.

Prices:

As prices vary you will need to talk to us to get a definite cost. To help, we spread the costs by asking for payment as we need it...you don't pay the whole lot up front.

There are four price elements:

1. The cost of the website (a one-off fee paid in two parts)
2. Registration fee for the domain name (which lasts one or two years)
3. The cost of web hosting (renewable each year)
4. Annual service charge (our fee to maintain and update the website)

1.  If you choose to use one of our standard templates the one-off fee for the creation of your website is £150.00.
If you wish to custom design your site by drawing on features from across our range, the website fee is higher to reflect the extra work involved, typically around £250.00.

2.  Domain names are commonly around the £10-20.00 range. This fee registers the name for one or two years and then needs to be renewed. There is a £5.00 handling fee for domain registrations, which is included in the price we quote.

3.  One year's web hosting should be no more than £50.00.

4.  Our annual service charge is £75.00

An example to give you an approximate idea of costs:

The initial charge would be £100.00: (1/2 website fee @ £75.00 + domain name @ £25.00)

The final payment would be £195.00: (1/2 website fee @ £75.00 + hosting @ £45.00 + service charge @ £75.00)

After the first year, only the annual service charge and hosting fees apply, with domain name registration becoming due every one or two years.

Who owns what?

If you already have a domain name and/or hosting arranged, we can use these and you therefore just buy the website* and pay the annual service charge.

If you use our full service, the website becomes your property* and the domain name is arranged in your name , so you may take this at any time in the future to either administer yourself or move to another service provider should you wish to do so.

* PLEASE NOTE: Although the website becomes your property, the code remains the intellectual property of MSDriving. You may make changes to your own website as you require, but the website code cannot be reproduced, or sold or leased to any third party, in whole or in part.

Ordering your site:

Take a look at our demonstration websites and decide on the style or features that you want then choose the wording of the parts specific to your driving school. You decide on the style of letters (the fonts) and have control over the colour scheme. There are nearly 150 colours available. Go to the colour chart.
You can omit any parts of the template websites that are not relevent to your business, or add sections to reflect the services you offer.

We suggest you call us to discuss your requirements and the likely costs at this stage, then we can take your order over the phone or you can complete an application form (below).
You will need to make an initial payment on application to cover the cost of the domain name and 50% of the website fee.

Once your site is ready, we ask you to check it, and at this stage we can make any changes that you require. For example the colours chosen may not work well together, or you may wish to move text/photos or add features such as a hit-counter.
This fine tuning is an inclusive part of our service.

Once you are fully satisfied, the final payment (the second 50% of the website fee plus the cost of web hosting plus the annual service charge) must be made. Then we upload your site to your host server.
A link to your website will also be included in the "localinstructor.org" directory.
