Demonstration websites

There are six basic styles to choose from and our demonstration websites have been designed to illustrate many of the features we offer. There is a wide selection of fonts, link formats and colours available across our range, and we can incorporate photos and graphics supplied by you at no extra cost. These layouts can easily be adapted to reflect your needs, and you can "mix and match" features from any of the example websites to allow you to achieve the 'look' you want for your own website.

Good websites - good Value

Some websites you'll see are both over-priced and ineffective, and some don't even work properly.

With some website companies the website alone will cost as much as our complete package, and then they will charge even more for hosting and maintenance. Often double what we charge!

And far too often these websites are just not user-friendly. Some use overly strong background colours and many have annoying pop-ups and drop-down menus, or gimmicky graphics like flashing or bouncing images. Often the website is cluttered and confused, and the site navigation is unclear. All these things are known to put people off before they even start using the website.
Far too often the actual content (the reason people have visited your website in the first place), has to take a back seat to flashy presentation. Form over function at its worst!
It doesn't have to be this way. Just take a look at some of the big companies' websites, like go compare, amazon, or BT. These sites show that a lot of information can be displayed clearly and relatively simply in a way that is easy on the eye and easy on the brain!

Our websites are tailored to the needs of individuals and small businesses, with page options for services, prices etc, or whatever you need. They are designed to be professional in appearance (to reflect your business), with clean and clear layouts which make them both eye-catching and easy to use.

Standards compliance

We often find ourselves looking at other websites, and as many as 10% of the sites we visit have a significant problem - around 1 in 5 visitors will find that these sites don't look right and don't work properly.

This is because these websites do not comply with the coding and scripting standards set by w3c, the impartial international organisation that sets the specifications for websites and browsers. And to make matters worse, one of the most popular web browsers* is also not standards compliant.
Standards-compliant websites may not work well on non-compliant browsers, and sites 'optimised' for a non-compliant browser may not render well on a compliant browser.

Fortunately, a competent webmaster can work around these problems and produce a standards-compliant website that works properly and looks good whatever computer and browser the viewer is using.

Our websites are written in HTML 4.0 which is the latest version of the standard web language, and when we post a new site on the web we have the code independently validated by w3c.
We also test-view them on all common browsers (Google Chrome, Microsoft Internet Explorer, Mozilla Firefox, Safari and Opera), on both 'square' and 'widescreen' monitors.

This ensures that all our websites should look good and work well on any computer, using any of the most popular browsers.

* Suprisingly, Microsoft Internet Explorer is not standards compliant, with version 6 being particularly poor.
Users of I.E.6 are strongly advised to at least upgrade to v.7, or consider installing an alternative browser.

msdriving supports the campaign to improve the web surfing experience by recommending the use of compliant browsers.
Below are some suggestions:

These are all fast, safe and secure, standards-compliant browsers with many useful features.

However, we appreciate that it is not our job to tell people which browser to use, and we will continue to create websites that work properly on all of them.
